Notice on the English-Language Publication Upgrade of JGAS

The Journal of Global Arts Studies (JGAS) is pleased to announce a publication upgrade designed to further strengthen the journal’s international profile, enhance the accessibility of its published research, and align its editorial and publishing practices more closely with recognized international standards.

Beginning in 2026, JGAS will publish accepted articles in English. This transition is part of the journal’s broader effort to support international scholarly communication and to make research in global arts and cultural studies more accessible to readers, researchers, and academic communities worldwide.

As part of this upgrade, JGAS will continue to refine its manuscript guidelines, peer-review procedures, editorial workflows, publication requirements, and quality assurance processes. These improvements are intended to support the journal’s long-term development and help it meet the expectations of major international indexing and abstracting databases, including SCOPUS, A&HCI, and SSCI.

JGAS will continue to accept submissions in English, Chinese, and Korean. Manuscripts submitted in languages other than English, once accepted, will be prepared for English-language publication in accordance with the journal’s editorial and academic standards. This process is intended to ensure clarity, consistency, and readability for an international audience.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, and other scholarly materials that contribute to global arts studies. Relevant areas include, but are not limited to, cross-cultural artistic practices and theories, art history and theory, visual arts, music, dance, design, architecture, digital art, intangible cultural heritage, cultural communication, artificial intelligence and art, art education, art management, sustainable art practices, environmental art, and other related fields.

JGAS remains committed to providing an open, rigorous, and internationally oriented platform for scholars, artists, curators, and researchers from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds. The journal will continue to uphold academic quality, strengthen international communication, and promote the global dissemination of research in the arts and cultural studies.

The Editorial Office sincerely appreciates the continued support of authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and readers. We look forward to working with the global academic community as JGAS enters this new stage of development.
